ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN SPORTS) – Sunday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks proved the Orlando Magic have a lot of catching up to do. With Terrence Ross as one of the only consistent scorers on the Magic roster, they shoulder a big disadvantage despite their hunger, since the Bucks outpace them in scoring and speed.

Mo Bamba led the Magic in scoring in the first half with 13 points while Khris Middleton led the Bucks with 14 points. Ross’s scoring was low in the first half. While he made seven assists, Ross only scored two points; netting four rebounds and four assists and no other shots on the night.

Bamba ended up leading the Magic all game long in scoring with 21 points, tying with Milwaukee’s Middleton. He was five for six in three pointers and eight for 11 in field goals. Cole Anthony contributed seven rebounds and five assists.

Middleton, the well-rounded threat, went eight for 13 in field goals and two for four in three-pointers on the night. Given his soft knee injury going into Sunday’s game, Giannis (Thanasis) Antetokounmpo played a support role for the Bucks, offering five rebounds, an assist, two blocks, and three of five field goals.

Steals gave the Magic one silver lining. Around the NBA, the Magic led the night with eight steals in the game.

“I think it’s just having the new guys kind of learn our tendencies and learn our principles,” Ross told the press in an interview before Sunday’s game.
