Kathy Castor Endorses Charlie Crist for Governor

ST. PETERSBURG — Today, Tampa Bay Congresswoman Kathy Castor endorsed Charlie Crist for governor of Florida, citing Charlie’s commitment to Floridians, environmental advocacy, and experience in delivering for the Sunshine State.
In her endorsement, Kathy Castor shares that “Charlie will stand up for voting rights, high quality education, affordable health care, and clean energy and clean water — just as he has done during his years of service to the people of our great state.”
Kathy Castor made the following statement:
“I’ve worked with Charlie Crist for years, but you only have to spend a couple minutes with him to know he’s always on the people’s side. I am proud to endorse Charlie Crist for Governor and am thrilled that he is running to bring Floridians together. Charlie will restore civility, bring decency to our politics and build a Florida for all. As Governor, I know that Charlie will stand up for voting rights, high quality education, affordable health care, and clean energy and clean water — just as he has done during his years of service to the people of our great state. I intend to work to elect Charlie Crist for Governor and I call on everyone who cares about Florida to do the same. Florida needs Charlie Crist. He’s been there for our state before during crises and challenges, and he’s more than prepared to help lead us in the years ahead.
“When Charlie was Governor, he worked to build unity rather than fuel division. We had an excellent working relationship and partnered on critical issues such as responding to the BP oil disaster, improving public education, recovering from the financial crisis, expanding early voting hours, supporting clean energy initiatives, increasing access to affordable health care, and working together to bring needed infrastructure investments back home to Tampa Bay. Charlie knows Florida, our people, and our vast and diverse communities. I believe he’s best suited to shake up Tallahassee and stand up for ALL of our neighbors in Florida.”
