Congresswoman Murphy & Commissioner Fried statements on Trump’s Sanford Rally
In response to the news that Donald Trump is going to host a rally in Sanford this Monday, Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried and Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy released the following statements:
Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried:
“Donald Trump can’t muster the willpower to make a deal on coronavirus relief for hardworking Floridians who lost their jobs through no fault of their own, but he can figure out a way to host a campaign rally?“Floridians have made so many sacrifices to keep their families safe during this pandemic, but Donald Trump is ready to risk it all for his ego. The sole purpose this rally holds is to distract from his failed pandemic response and weak leadership. But make no mistake: hosting another super spreader event in Florida is only going to remind voters why we cannot afford another four years of such chaotic and dangerous leadership. Floridians are already voting in droves — and will send Joe Biden to the White House on November 3rd.”
Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy:
“Donald Trump lied and downplayed the threat of the coronavirus and look where that has gotten us — devastating job loss and too many precious lives lost. President Trump’s reckless disregard for our wellbeing is sinking to new lows as he prepares to host another rally in Florida. We desperately need to overcome this deadly pandemic and start our economic recovery, but President Trump has proven he simply isn’t up to the task. Joe has a plan, the experience, and the empathy required to help us heal and rebuild from this ongoing crisis.”
