SALT LAKE CITY (FNN NEWS) — Former U.S. Representative Mia Love, a trailblazing Republican and the first Black Republican woman elected to Congress, passed away Sunday at the age of 49 following a battle with brain cancer.

Her family confirmed the news on her official X account, stating that she passed away peacefully at her home in Saratoga Springs, Utah.
