Congressman Darren Soto Announces Community Project Funding Requests For Central Florida
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09) announced that he submitted 10 Community Project Funding (CPF) requests to the House Committee on Appropriations for funding consideration in the FY2022 cycle. These projects consider the most urgent needs of Florida’s Ninth Congressional District and aim to improve the lives of Central Floridians.
“I am honored to advocate for projects that aim to uplift our students, assist with mental health issues, maximize job growth, support our move towards clean energy, combat homelessness and make our community an overall better place,” said Congressman Soto. “As we continue working with local partners to improve the quality of life of Central Floridians, it is crucial for us to advocate for federal funds to be allocated towards these important community projects.”
In February, the House Committee on Appropriations announced that they would begin accepting programmatic, language-based, and Community Project Funding requests from Members of Congress to meet the needs of communities across the United States. Congressman Soto and his staff reached out and met with numerous stakeholders in Central Florida to identify top projects. As part of the committee’s efforts to ensure transparency, Congressman Soto certified that he, his spouse, and his immediate family have no interest in the projects submitted.
