Florida National News Names LaTanya Newell Faith & Family Associate Editor
ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN) – Florida National News’ new Faith & Family department has been in the making since last year, and now it has its first leader. Florida National News announced today that LaTanya Newell will help grow Faith & Family as its new Associate Editor.
Newell will help grow a team of talent that specializes in faith and family stories, designate story assignments, and create and curate faith and family content for the network.
Newell, an entrepreneur with her own travel agency, has years of experience in the faith-based community and endeavors to help expand Florida National News’s ability to serve that community with greater coverage and promotional opportunities for faith-based businesses.
Newell’s addition to the team came at the invitation of her good friend Kathleen Michelle, who Florida National News recently named Politics Associate Editor.
“I am thankful for Kathleen Michelle sharing the opportunity and FNN seeing my passion of Faith & Family,” said Newell Tuesday. “I am excited and looking forward to the growth of FNN and being a part of the team.”
Florida National News Editor Mellissa Thomas welcomes Newell’s expertise and leadership. “LaTanya’s business acumen and ideas will help move Florida National News forward in a community we’ve wanted to serve in a more committed way,” said Thomas Tuesday. “And we look forward to mutually bolstering her skillset and knowledge base with the experience our network has to offer.”
