State Reps. Smith, Eskamani Join Rep. Morales to Launch COVID-19 Vaccination Site in House District 48
ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – State Representatives Carlos Guillermo Smith (D-49) and Anna Eskamani (D-47) teamed up with State Representative Daisy Morales (D-48) to announce the launch of a COVID-19 vaccination site at an Azalea Park church in House District 48.
In partnership with the Florida Division of Emergency Management, Rep. Morales coordinated with Jesus de Nazaret Episcopal Church, located in Morales’ district at 26 Willow Drive, Orlando, FL 32807, to offer a COVID-19 vaccination site for residents in the Hispanic community aged 65 and older. Reps. Eskamani, Smith and Morales made the announcement Sunday afternoon for the site’s opening on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Residents can schedule their appointment at Bravo Supermarket located at 999 Semoran Blvd. until 6 p.m.
500 doses will be distributed at the church site, Morales said.

According to State data, blacks and Hispanics comprise roughly 40 percent of the state’s population yet, as of last week, only 13 percent of them have been vaccinated. Rep. Morales has taken that statistic to heart. “That number is very low, and I’m creating as many opportunities as possible for my constituents to get the vaccine.”
“We want the Hispanic community, our Latinos who have been most affected by this pandemic, to get vaccinated, to have the opportunity to make an appointment,” said Father José Rodríguez.
Morales told Florida National News she already has several COVID-19 mass vaccination sites available with the capacity to administer 3,000 doses per day in addition to other places of worship pending in her district. More updates are forthcoming.
